Evergreen Campground Wild Rose, WI Anonymous post on Sunday, May 12, 2013 We have had a permanent site at Evergreen for 13 years. It just keeps getting better! We have never had a bad experience. We LOVE it!
Paradise Springs at Big Rock Valyermo, CA Anonymous post on Sunday, May 05, 2013 Larry CANCELLED my reservation for June 29th, 2013, which my family planned since February! The reason? SOME GROUP WOULD COME EARLIER THAN MY GROUP AND WOULD BE STAYING LONGER SO HE GAVE MY RESERVATION TO THIS GROUP. LARRY SAID, "IT'S JUST BUSINESS!"
Larry and I communicated via phone and email since February 2013. Larry also sent a copy of my RESERVATION via email on March 13, which I CONFIRMED. I even VISITED the site and met Larry on March 23rd and further confirmed my reservation. We both AGREED on the two cabins my family was going to stay in. I did not receive any phone call nor email message from Larry since March 23rd. He claimed he called and sent emails, but I have records from my phone company and Internet provider that he DID NOT contact me between March 23 and April 12. On April 12, I received a phone mesage from his staff telling me to confirm my reservation. I returned the call the following day. On April 12, I also received two separate emails containing the CONTRACT and LIABILITY agreements, respectively. Then on April 15, I received a phone message that Larry CANCELLED my reserrvation because I did not return the call and that they tried calling me and their phone was blocked! My phone service confirmed there was no blocking of his phone calls. LARRY ADMITTED THAT HE GOT ANOTHER GROUP WHO'S GIVING HIM MORE BUSINESS SO HE CANCELLED MY RESERVATION!
I tried to settle this with Larry by emailing him and leaving phone messages. I even asked to talk to Larry's supervisor or company owner, if not himself. I never received any return call nor email.
The site advertises :Love All. Worship One." My experience was totally not a reflection of what the company advertises. I think Larry's actions clearly speak of what he believes in. I wonder what happened to the word INTEGRITY.
Camp Far West Wheatland, CA Anonymous post on Saturday, April 27, 2013 Rowdy crazy, red neck camping. No rules are followed, no rules were enforced. Great place to camp for the under twenty party goers. Wonderful place to watch the big boats race about with the ski do crews.
Evergreen Campground Wild Rose, WI Anonymous post on Saturday, April 27, 2013 My husband has been at Evergreen since 1965. We have had a camper there since 1994. We have enjoyed every minute. We have never been yelled at. We have never been offered drugs. I don't know of any favored seasonals. The staff has always treated us respectfully. Jim has known us for a long time and has been professional in all are dealings. We have seen the park change over the years and all of the changes have been positive. While you may think that money is the only motivator think about it people. They have from the middle of April to the end of September to make their money to feed your family for a year. The park is clean. It offers many things to do every weekend. If you are bored, camping is not for you. The pool is clean, the beach is clean, the bathrooms are clean. The sites are clean. There are rules. They are there for everybody. So everyone has a good time. They are not unreasonable. We could not think of a better place to spend our time and we travel 150 miles one way to get there. I agree about the WiFi. It could be a bit stronger. You really couldn't do better for a family friendly experience.
Evergreen Campground Wild Rose, WI Anonymous post on Thursday, April 25, 2013 I have camped at Evergreen many times through-out my child hood, starting at age 6, at one point my parents purchased a trailer and a permenant spot for several years! Yes, there ARE many drunken bafoons, but what do you expect? YOU'RE CAMPING, they're gonna get a little crazy!!! The point of camping is to live off the land, not play on your iPad for the love of God.. if you want luxury, get a cabin or possibly try The Dells. YES, there ARE drugs present, even 10 years ago when I was 13 I recall very clearly being offered marijuana.. amongst other things. YES, the owner CAN be VERRRY rude, especially toward children, but this is easily overlooked when you realize that a good majority of the permenant site children are a little on the bratty side. Jim does seem to favor certain permenant families, but this is all coming from the memory of an at the time 17 year old, and this is easily understood as he has had time to build relationships with those families. I was never bored and made friends with the "wrong" crowd, but, I had fun and I LOVED IT! The rules Do need to be a little more fairly enforced and those golf carts DEFINITLEY are an accident waiting to happen. Over all, I enjoyed it and have visited for a swim a few times since my parents sold the camper.
Evergreen Campground Wild Rose, WI Anonymous post on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 Great Park! Great Staff!
Float Rite Park Somerset, WI Anonymous post on Wednesday, April 03, 2013 Easy on-line reservations & check-in. Left a deposit & refunded at check-out if our campsite was clean---thought that was a good idea. Their camp store had the basics and any concession food we needed. Bathrooms were clean, staff was very friendly & accommodating to us. We had a great time tubing the Apple River. All in all, great experience and a cheap weekend without having to go too far from the Twin Cities.
